A picture says more than a thousand words. And besides, taking pictures is fun!
Below you will find a selection of photo's from what we have experienced. Enjoy them just as much as we have! The links take you to a photo session dedicated to one subject. Click on the link to view the gallery... In each gallery, click on a thumbmail to enlarge it.
South Africa, a beautiful country but ripped apart by the differences between white and black. This is our last African country, from here we shipped home. Click here to view some of our pictures.
Namibia, a country we fell in love with. Nice people, beautiful landscapes, lots of culture, lots of history, lots of sun. Click here to get a glimpse from this lovely country.
Zambia is a very friendly and beautiful African country. With the amazing Victoria falls and the great South Luangwa National Park. Click here to almost hear the mighty Falls.
Malawi was our last RAP-road country. We got a warm welcome and could hear the RAP-song just before the singers would head for the Netherlands, where they will give a concert together with the other countries. Click here to find the RAP-road in Malawi.
In Tanzania, next to the RAP-song, we found beautiful beaches, lots of animals and diverse landscapes. Click here to see some impression of that.
In Tanzania we visited UMATI. This organisation works together with Youth Incentives and produced one of the RAP-songs. We visited some of their projects and had an inspiring meeting with the people who made the Tanzanian RAP-song. Click here to follow the RAP-road into Tanzania.
East Africa at last. We have arrived in Kenya, known for it's animals and beautiful Rift valley. But when we entered, it was in the news because of the mayhem after desastrous elections. But we liked it. It is more western than any of the countries before, the people are nice and we did see some of the animals. The downside is that it is very expensive, so we decided to see more animals elsewhere. Click here to see some of the animals we saw.
Ethiopia, our first real African country this trip. Instead of hunger we found large agricultural fields. We saw mountains, lakes and forests. There are large cultural monuments. It is a rich country, but it's people are used to getting stuff. Click here to see what we found in Ethiopia.
Sudan. A country that rings bells of hunger and civil war. But also a country larger than France, Germany and Italy together. We found a country with very nice people, beautiful ancient remains and almost (but not completely) all good roads. Click here to see Sudan as we saw it.
Crossing the border between Egypt and Sudan. This means taking a ferry for 24 hours. This is more complicated than it sounds because this ferry does not take cars. Also the pontoon does not carry cars larger than five meter. Click here to see how we got accross.
We entered Egypt through the Sinai. After a couple days relaxing at the beach we braved Cairo traffic to get our Sudanese visum extended. From now on we go south... Click here to see what Egypt has to offer.
Besides visiting the HCAW (see below) we did quite a few other things in Jordan. Click here for pictures of some of the things we saw.
We visited the Humane Center for Animal Welfare in Jordan. We were warmly welcomed and were impressed by their good works. Click here for some pictures.
We spent a few days in Syria. The people are very kind here, but it is rather expensive to get into. Click here for some pictures to get an impression.
Turkey. Lots of nice people and steep hills. But some of us finally got to swimming. To see what else we did, click here.
Greece, one of our favorites in Europe. It is a bit far away, but the ferry from Italy costs less than 150 euro's, including port tax. This time, we only spend a week or so. To see what we saw, click here.
After France we visited Italy. Or, to be more precise, Pompei. To see why, click here.
The first country we spend some time was France. To see what we did, click here.
For pictures of the Dubbellucht Najaarsweekend 2007, click here.
For pictures of the Voodoo Africa Treffen, click here. And we did not use any Photoshop tricks. We never do...
Before we could leave a lot of things were done. From some of it we have a photograph. Click here for some of them.
